Secretly Unstable

I have been told I am crazy, funny, a good cook, and a decent blogger. These are the expectations I am trying to live up to. Thank you.

Being Politically Incorrect But Right

I have to take a moment to sound off about the GOP VP nomination, Sarah Palin. Sure she scares me because of her politicial views and how short sighted her conservative views are. (How can you not think you are just a little bit wrong when you stand up against sex education in schools and your teenage daughter gets knocked up?) And her inexperience is troublesome. (She is a heartbeat away from being president if McCain is elected, and McCain doesn't have a ton of heartbeats left.) But here is my biggest issue with her...

She has a 4 month old at home!

I can hardly do my mid-level management job with a baby! Sleepless nights, baby brain, shifting priorities. I am hanging on by a thread. I swear they are trying to figure out how to get rid of me. No one is nominating me for anything, other than most likely to fall asleep in a 3:30 meeting.

To be her right now, she either has to sacrifice her family or her job. And I am sorry, but family comes first. And if it doesn't that is a bad thing. When you have a little one at home, you can't "have it all." Nor should you want it all.

In the future I will get to focus on my career again. Not that my family won't need me, but Ruby will probably be sleeping through the night at some point and I won't be sleep deprieved. For a woman there is a time for her career and I time for her family. When you have a 4 month old, it is time for your family.

Is it a double standard? Absolutely. Is it unfair? Yes.
