Secretly Unstable

I have been told I am crazy, funny, a good cook, and a decent blogger. These are the expectations I am trying to live up to. Thank you.

Winds of Change....

(Now stop whistling, I know I got the song stuck in your head.)

After almost six years at Y&R's BrandBuzz I finally quit last Tuesday! It is time for a change. And even though I can't decide whether it is the best or worse time for changing jobs, I decided the pros out weigh the cons and I took the leap. I am going to miss being a part of Buzz, cause well, I really am a part of Buzz. The folks here have been my friends for a long time and I enjoyed working with pretty much everyone. The work hasn't always been fun, but I do think everyone at Buzz is smart and crazy, which has made the last 6 years been interesting to say the least.

Between pranks (500+ marbles falling out of your over head cabinet, 500+ high bounch ball attacks, and the infamous Annoy-a-tron caper), the quote wall ("it doesn't swing my thing" and "phat snatch" are some of my favorites), unofficial awards ("first to free food" and "best booty" for example) and countless of ridiculous scenarios, it has been fun. And no one got fired for harassment. Pretty amazing. So I hope I can being some of the fun with me, and I hope someone keeps the fun alive.

My new job is at a small privately owned advertising agency called The Seiden Group. I will be their first media person working on the Visiting Nurse Service of NY. On top of joining a group of smart folks, working on a feel good not-for-profit, and starting up their media planning offering I was offered a 4 day work week! So more Ruby time, and hopefully a little more Alaina time. It will hopefully be the work/life balance that I have been craving ever since I returned from my maternity leave in January. 4 days on, 3 days off. Sounds sweet.

So wish me luck and say a little prayer for me the morning of October 6th. Change is good. A four day work week is even better.
